Many skills. One shared promise.

Volunteer with Kindred Tails

Animal welfare takes far more than feeding bowls and good intentions. It takes dependable people willing to bring their time, judgment, practical skills, and compassion to work that matters.

Powered entirely by volunteers

There is more than one way to change an animal’s life.

Some volunteers work directly with animals. Others drive, photograph, write, organize, repair, landscape, fundraise, or keep essential records moving. Kindred Tails wants to match people with work they can perform safely, consistently, and well.

Animal care

Feeding, cleaning, enrichment, observation, dog walking, and cat socialization under established care and safety procedures.

Foster & transport

Temporary home care and dependable transportation for veterinary appointments, supplies, placements, and rescue coordination.

Events & outreach

Community events, educational outreach, adoption support, setup, guest assistance, and mission-centered conversations.

Stories & media

Photography, video, writing, social content, and respectful storytelling that helps each animal be known—not merely seen.

Fundraising & grants

Campaign planning, donor appreciation, sponsorship development, grant research, writing, and organized follow-through.

Facilities & operations

Skilled trades, repairs, landscaping, administrative support, data organization, supply management, and professional services.

What dependable help looks like

Compassion becomes useful through consistency.

  • Be honest about availability, experience, and physical limits.
  • Follow animal-care, privacy, safety, and communication procedures.
  • Ask before changing a care plan or representing the organization.
  • Communicate early when a commitment or situation changes.
  • Treat animals, families, volunteers, and partners with dignity.
