Mission in Motion · Kindred Tails Sanctuary

More time
for tails.

Kindred Tails came to CauseWorkHub for a nonprofit operating system. Together, we built something even bigger: a completely reimagined public website, a field-ready rescue app, and a connected operating backbone designed around the volunteers giving vulnerable animals their second chance.

The mission

Second chances deserve first-rate tools.

Kindred Tails rescues, rehabilitates, protects, and advocates for abandoned and at-risk animals—giving each one compassion, safety, dignity, and a real chance to belong.

In rural southeast Georgia, that work includes rescue, sanctuary care, rehabilitation, TNR, adoption, fostering, education, and outreach. It is demanding, urgent work carried by volunteers whose time is one of the organization’s most precious resources.

Technology should return that time to the mission. That principle shaped everything we built.

How it began

They asked for the Hub.
We looked at the whole mission.

1

A nonprofit operating system

Kindred Tails came to CauseWorkHub seeking one connected place for the records, responsibilities, conversations, decisions, and evidence behind its work.

2

A website ready to evolve

They also asked us to assess their existing website and quote a modernization that would work naturally alongside the Hub.

3

A bigger commitment

Because this is the kind of company we are, CauseWorkHub included a complete custom website redesign with their Hub license—at no additional design cost.

The discovery

A small manual task was quietly consuming mission time.

During the redesign, we saw volunteers manually entering animal photographs and information into the website. The process worked, but it required people already juggling care, inquiries, transportation, fundraising, and administration to repeat the same information across disconnected places.

So we stopped thinking about a webpage—and designed the shortest possible path from an animal in front of a volunteer to an animal in front of the world.

Photo to profile

Take a picture. Add a few notes. Keep moving.

We built the Kindred Team app for the phone already in a volunteer’s hand. A team member can photograph an animal, add the essential details, select its status and urgency, write a short introduction, and send it directly into the Kindred Tails system.

Authorized staff submissions can publish to the website immediately. A complete profile—not merely a loose photo—becomes available to potential adopters, foster families, sitters, sponsors, and supporters while the moment is still fresh.

The app installs directly to a phone’s home screen and can also be accessed and controlled through CauseWorkHub. No complicated software. No duplicate entry. No waiting to get back to a desktop.

The public pathway

The same simplicity—paired with responsible approval.

We created a related mobile pathway for people who need to surrender an animal or request pet-sitting support. They can submit a photograph and the information Kindred Tails needs without chasing down the right email address or trying to explain everything in a social-media message.

Public submissions never publish automatically. They enter a clear Needs Approval status so the team can review the information, ask questions, assess capacity, follow legal intake requirements, and decide the responsible next step. Convenience never bypasses judgment.

Mission control

The website has a control center. The Hub is its brain.

Behind the new Kindred Tails website is a custom control center where authorized team members can add and manage animals, approve submissions, publish stories, review adoption and foster inquiries, respond to website chats, update public information, and prepare content for social sharing.

But the control center is only the visible working surface. Its operational brain lives inside CauseWorkHub.

One action becomes part of the mission record.

The Hub connects each animal, submission, conversation, and decision with the people involved, responsible volunteers, dates, assigned tasks, supporting documents, approvals, veterinary and care expenditures, funding sources, communications, and eventual outcomes.

Instead of information being scattered across texts, inboxes, social accounts, spreadsheets, paper notes, and separate forms, the work becomes one organized, accountable record. CauseWorkHub sequences the names, dates, responsibilities, approvals, expenditures, evidence, and results behind the mission—while the website turns that coordinated work into visibility, support, and second chances.

OJ's public adoption profile

Visibility with purpose

Faster publishing is not about convenience alone.

Every hour an adoptable animal remains unseen is an hour a potential adopter, foster, sitter, sponsor, or donor cannot respond. Faster, richer profiles help the right people discover the right need while Kindred Tails can still act on that momentum.

The same approved information can move into the website, social posts, sponsorship appeals, foster requests, and supporter updates—without rebuilding the animal’s story every time.

Less repetition for volunteers. More visibility for animals. More opportunities for the community to say yes.

Built to keep growing

Capacity building that thinks ahead.

The connected foundation makes room for tools that help Kindred Tails see what needs attention before important work falls through the cracks.

Rescue Readiness Board

A live view of animals needing photos, medical follow-up, foster placement, sponsorship, social promotion, applications, or a recorded next step.

Care & Cost Timeline

A single chronological record connecting care milestones, vaccinations, veterinary appointments, receipts, funding, approvals, and placement outcomes.

Volunteer Hand-offs

Clear assignments and status updates so the next volunteer can continue the work without searching through messages or starting over.

Mission Story Engine

Turn approved animal updates and outcomes into website stories, sponsor updates, social content, and impact reporting without re-entering the facts.

Mission in Motion

We did not ask Kindred Tails to change its mission to fit the software.

We shaped the technology around the rescue: around its volunteers, its responsibilities, its public, and—most importantly—the animals depending on it.

That is what CauseWorkHub is built to do.
