Start with the right fit
Every good adoption begins with listening.
Kindred Tails looks beyond a photograph or first impression. We learn about each animal’s health, history, temperament, routines, and needs, then help families consider whether daily life together can work for everyone. The goal is not the fastest placement. It is a safe, stable, lasting home.
Apply
Tell us about your household, current pets, experience, schedule, and the kind of companion you hope to welcome.
Talk with us
A team member reviews the application and follows up to clarify needs, answer questions, and discuss possible matches.
Meet thoughtfully
When there may be a fit, we arrange a conversation or meeting and discuss introductions to resident people and pets.
Prepare for home
Before placement, we review care, veterinary needs, transition planning, safety, and any animal-specific expectations.
Before you apply
A commitment measured in years.
Applicants must be 21 or older. Everyone in the household should be ready for the responsibility, expense, adjustment period, and changes that come with a new family member. Renters should confirm that animals are permitted before applying.
- Plan for routine and emergency veterinary care.
- Allow decompression time and patient, safe introductions.
- Be prepared for training, enrichment, grooming, and daily care.
- Choose for compatibility—not appearance alone.
